About the tournament
SPARTA PRAGUE OPEN 2012
The third year of the international women's tennis tournament with prize money 100 000 USD will be held on 14 - 20 May 2012 on the clay courts of TK Sparta Praha in Stromovka. The organizers are Czech Tennis Association and Tennis club Sparta Praha like in the past two years. The finalist last year was Petra Kvitova – current world nr. 3 player. Thanks to the ranking position Petra can´t participate in this tournament. This year have the orginizers promises from Lucie Safarova, Barbora Zahalavova Strycova and Klara Zakopalova to participace in this event. There are 32 players in the singles main draw, 32 players in qualifying draw and 16 pairs in double main draw.
Tennis exhibition
Tennis exhibition became to be a nice and welcome tradition of the semifinal matches on Saturdays. This year the organizer will prepare very interesting tennis match of the legend and the best czech male tennis player Ivan Lendl with the former world tennis player Jiří Novák on May 19th. The exact time will be specified.
No entry fee throughout the whole tournament.
